I’ve updated the blog to version 2.0.2 of wordpress. If everything went correctly you should probably notice no difference. I have however enabled being able to register. I’m not sure what the hell this feature will offer you (if anything) and I don’t intend to investigate it any further. If you register, lemme know what the hell it enables you to do (like make posts, delete my blog, blow up my computer, etc). I kind of want to update the design since I threw it together really fast when I created the blog and it barely works in IE. Maybe I’ll get around to doing that eventually.

Also, I’ve just enabled an anti-spam thing so if you post a comment and it doesn’t show up for a few days send me an e-mail (see business card below for the correct address) because it was probably marked as spam for some reason.

So I am officially graduated. I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the whole graduation ceremony thing, I felt like part of a weird dress up cult. I stayed up all night before the graduation because I got into a lame sleeping schedule and it was either 2 hours of sleep or no sleep - I opted out and paid for it all day. I guess it made the whole thing slightly more interesting and surreal, but I was pretty tired by the time I got home. My portfolio website is pretty much done and optimized now, so it shouldn’t kill your computer anymore if you go to it (unless of course you have a really slow computer). It’s nothing great but it’s kind of cool printed out. I was super jealous of one of my pals in the Design department who managed to make recycled business cards. Not just on recycled paper, but just using a sticker with his information on the top of “real” business cards from various places. I thought it was a great idea, if I had more time (or rather if I didn’t procrastinate most of my time away) I would (should) have come up with something recycled.

In my last post I mentioned a new audio project I was starting, it’s tentatively being called “output” and I haven’t worked out much of the specifics yet but me and some pals from Secret Iris have already started producing some content for it. Unfortunately due to geographical distances, this work is being done separately thus far, but collaborative outputs are definitely fair game. The project was mainly started as a way to force myself to finish some damn songs, but I think it could go a lot of different places further than just that. I’ve packaged a collection of my first string of “outputs” which are linked by the style in which they were created. You can read more about it and download the collection of songs which I’ve titled “Transmission X” by clicking on the image above. For the more adventurous among you, jump right into the collection of outputs that are gathering here (including those featured on transmission x). I hope to make a proper site for the project soon.

If you plan on listening to these songs more than once, please consider saving them to your hard drive so that you don’t eat up all my bandwidth. And if you need help opening a zip file… Google is your friend

I finished my portfolio the other day. It turned out ok, there are a lot of things I would change about it, but at least it’s out there in some format. I was so busy with school that I forgot to think about what the hell I’m going to do now that I’m graduating. I’ve been planning on going to UWM to get a BFA in the inter-arts program, but now I’m having second thoughts. First of all it’s not going to happen next semester because I didn’t get a chance to apply for any scholarships, which my teachers think I would be able to get without a problem. Also I applied so late that I probably wouldn’t get accepted anyway. I also need to get a job between now and then, so I’m thinking I’ll see how that goes and then determine if I want to go to school. Maybe I’ll take a year off and see how things go. Either way, I’m going to be getting a job soon so that should be interesting. Hopefully I’ll have some other cool things happening. I started a new audio project like a month ago and I’ve had some pretty good results, I’ll blog more about that later and hopefully have at least a basic website up soon - there is already quite a bit of content with more coming soon.
